Santorini related to Atlantis ?

According to my research on Santorini having relation with Atlantis, I came to know that in the year 1966 at Akroteri, a city was found on Santorini, archeologist James Maber Jr. thought that this is the lost Atlantis, the reason behind thinking of Atlantis, is when the carbon dating system was used, he found out that the city was buried by a volcano eruption, which dated around 1550 BC to 1500 BC and their Atlantis name croped up.



Some scholar rubbish this radiocarbon dating, some support it. Santorini is related to Atlantis or not, this story is in circulation for long-long time and have been passed from generation to generation, that an island was present, which was magical, divine in nature and very advance, named Atlantis.



As this was pass on orally, their were no written literature, but
during the time of Plato, the great Greek philosopher, wrote the story about Atlantis, around 375 BC. He penned the entire story, which came down from forefathers to father then to their sons.



People are divided in this issue, many says Atlantis is mythical, some
says it is extraterrestrial and some says it never existed.
